Surfing Storm Harry in Malta
Our crew surfed Storm Harry in the most incredible conditions. Huge bombs with huge consequences! Read all on BOMBA!
Storm Harry didn’t knock. It kicked the door in.
Winds howling past 100km/h, gusts clocking 103km/h, bins flying, trees falling, scaffolding rattling, sea spray blowing sideways across roads that had no business being near the ocean that day. Tiles gone. Boats unhappy. The islands took a beating.
And then there were the surfers.
Because when the Med turns feral, someone always paddles out.
Golden Bay: Paul vs. the System
While most people were double-checking their shutters, Paul "Big Poppa" paddled out at Golden Bay and pretty much told the storm to get in line. Windy, angry, shifting peaks — the kind of conditions where nothing really wants to cooperate. Paul did anyway. Late drops, heavy sections, full commitment. He didn’t just surf it. He claimed it.
Ghallis: No Margin, No Mercy
Over at Għallis, things got sketchy in a very real way.
Hadrien went over the ledge on a proper reefy drop, got swallowed, and came up way too close to the rocks for anyone’s comfort, including his own. One of those wipeouts where you don’t laugh after. You just breathe.
Then there was Luis, same zone, same danger, completely different outcome. He looked at the chaos and thrived. Found lines. Made sections. Turned survival into surfing.
Carlo, as always, did Carlo things. Calm. Fast. Surgical. Picking off big lefts like the ocean wasn’t trying to kill everyone equally.
Marley’s & the Hunters
Marley’s stepped up too. Not perfect. Not friendly. But very much alive. Enough to keep the crew hunting, bouncing between spots, chasing windows between squalls.
And yes , one secret spot fired. Properly. The kind of session you don’t post about. You just nod about it later and you don't share on BOMBA.
Sky ended his day with a dead board. A fin box destroyed, fin collapsed, but still optimistic about the outcome. In these conditions its a miracle only a fin got smashed, and not a human face.
Massive waves, massive stoke, and massive respect for the riders, even if your name isn't here. Also props to the fam who go out there, get clips, shoot photos and do their thing to support the system.
Wave of Winter: Proof or It Didn’t Happen
Through all of this, clips started rolling in.
Heavy ones.
Surfers sending their Wave of Winter entries straight from Storm Harry’s leftovers - bombs, wipeouts, shaky phone footage, raw Mediterranean energy. No filters. No fluff. Just proof that when it’s on, Malta shows up.
Storm Harry left damage behind.
But it also left a reminder. This place might be small. But when the weather turns hostile, the surf turns serious, and the people paddling out don’t flinch. And that you are awesome for chasing glory.
