Offshore October

We're not exactly sure how this happened, but October was off the charts!

October went wild. We’re talking off the hooks, unhinged, pure fucking fun. From mammoth waves in obscure locations, to an incredible party and everything in between, catch up on the wicked month here.

It all kicked off in the coolest way possible with an epic surf rock night. Hadri, Julian, Liam, Myles, Ryan and Barbara rocked us at Surfside, seemingly blessing the month for what was coming.

A swell for the ages

The mid-October swell was as high as Afroman, and this gave us incredible conditions pretty much across most spots around the islands. St.Thomas Bay was pumping and fun. Fajtata had incredible waves breaking quite close to the reef. PG was pure glass, and then an unnamed spot was simply out of this world. Those waves would have not looked out of place in Hawaii, and Carlo Gravina caught the bomb of the day, really taming a Maltese giant, riding it over 150m long!

Valerio ripped at PG with the likes of Paul, Sky and Hadri, and again, the footage is jaw-dropping. The offshore exploration continued as new sites were explored, discovered, or ditched. It’s all about the hunt, and these guys hunted hard.

Lightening storms over head, huge waves, rain, sun, more waves – it was wild and unexpected too. A surfer’s dream.

Pacifico Party

We love to celebrate massive occasions, and what better way to do that than to host an epic party at Hideout. We had no less than five deejays, as the tunes kept flowing. Everyone put on their best Hawaiian outfit, despite it being closer to Halloween than summer, and that’s what we love. We do things our way, as surfers on our own schedule.

As we danced, the clocks crept back that hour, and now it gets dark at 17:30 fml, really cropping our evening surf sessions. We need to protest this clock change or just invest in heavy lighting!

Your own editor opened the set with some classic Hip Hop, before Matt Tanti segwayed into some funk and groovy hits, followed by the pumping Valerio, incredible Emma and smooth Nicola. Too many deejays? Probably, but we’re just having fun!

Up next: Vinyl night at Pole Pole

For November, we’re heading back to where it all began. Pole Pole welcomes you to dance on a vinyl night, so show up, let’s groove! Friday 22nd is confirmed, so get this in your calendars fam.

Aprille Zammit’s exhibition: Soak in Sunlight

If there’s one thing we love, its creativity, and if there’s one thing Aprille has in abundance, it’s precisely that. She invited the fam to Marie Gallery 5 in Sliema, showcasing her creations in perfect lighting. Her delicately screen-printed artworks are beautiful and limited. They depict surf, waves, sun, sunsets, dawn and more – but we won’t give it all away – go experience it for yourselves, you won’t be disappointed! It’s live till November 7th, enjoy!

Now, with one party booked in November, let’s have another super month! Stay salty all!
