Is it us or do the months keep getting better and better? Since starting these reviews in January, it seems each month is getting more packed, more fun and dare we ask it, are we getting more and more surf? It looks like it!
Blessed by Homega
The month kicked off in spectacular fashion for Valerio and your editor and writer Mark. During the summer months, Homega contacted Bomba for a video story about surfing in Malta, so I thought it would only make sense to have Valerio join the project, so we can talk about both sides of our sport: the community, and the waves. The video will be released this week, and it’s incredible. A massive production, in which they focused on different disciplines, sports and hobbies in Malta, and it was truly humbling to be called in for it.
As part of the launch, the people involved were invited to an exclusive watch party, in a gorgeous countryside villa, with the very best people around. We can’t wait to show you the video, and for now, we’ve got the trailer for Blessed: Season 1 so give that a watch!
New trees planted
After that blessing, the surf community paid it forward with an Olive tree planting session, using the money raised in the epic Surf Concert. Barbara Lipovsek coordinated a special day, and knowing the island will have more trees due to the amazing surf fam is truly a remarkable feeling. Well done all! Salini National Park will be greener, and a huge Well done to Coast is Clear for collaborating with the local surf crew.
Surf Takeover
The mood was pumping all month, and with four farewells, or see ya laters, we decided to throw a party at Sailors’ Paradise and take over! Valerio and Mark deejayed and the crowd went f*cking wild. We truly took over the place, inna surfing style! We danced, jumped, hugged and partied right before Valerio and Kate jetted to Bali for a long break, while Basile and Lorenzino headed to France.
The next party will be even bigger since there ain’t no stopping us now, and we’ve got more lights, more music and more fun coming up!
Maori Movie Night
At the end of the month, we also crammed in another surf movie night at Maori, hosted by Hadrien. The night kicked off with a magical moment as the BOMBA sign was gifted, prompting wild scenes from Mark. It was an amazing moment; thank you so much, fam!
The Joe Turpel interview was then teased, and people loved it. Please watch the full episode here.
That was followed by Dean Roberton’s epic Summer Snap video, capturing the brilliant competition held at the end of summer, won by Sky.
Hadrien’s Basque to the Future was the main movie of the night, and what an excellent show that was! Nothing beats a surf trip, but the way these guys captured their vibe as they hunted for waves in two vans across France and Spain was brilliant. Well done to all and thanks for hosting!
Between all that, we surfed too! We had an epic weekend swell to end November, which rolled into December! Let the good times roll!
