September 2024 really had it all and we’re still catching our breath. Waves, parties, interviews and an incredible comp! If summer was flat, September made up for it in groves, and we’re so grateful. The lift a surf session gives you after a dry spell is second to none, but when you cram so much in the space of 30 days, then you know you’re living the best life!
WSL Finals
The month kicked off with the epic watch party for the WSL finals on the Sky Terrace (working title!). Crates of beer, an exciting final on very questionable conditions, and an incredible barbeque – what more could we want? Matteo Sacca won the overall WSL Fantasy season this season, as consistency ruled, while your very own editor won the finals day event and scored a free BOMBA keychain. Cheers!
We’re looking forward to meeting for more watch parties when the new season gets underway in Hawaii next January.
WSL interview on BOMBA
Talking WSL, you’ll have heard by now that BOMBA interviewed the voice of the WSL himself Joe Turpel, and we’re slowly dropping the content on Instagram, so keep your eyes peeled and read the first interview here now.
Look out for more reels, blog posts, and the full-length pod coming soon on Bomba’s YouTube channel, too! We’ve got a friend in the WSL who has heaps of good tips for us local surfers.
Wave Week and Summer Snap
As we said farewell to the WSL season, we somehow also managed to get a comp together at Ghajn Tuffieha. Three-time event finalist Sky Howes finally got his hand on the trophy, beating Valerio Cicconi in the final of the 2024 Summer Snap, and what an epic day that was! Good music, brilliant beer, stylish surfing, and the best waves came together to provide the ultimate show!
It was a huge week of surfing, with winds blowing for eight days plus, as we welcomed the winter season in style. Chekc out Jon Brincat’s photos to feel the energy.
From surf to skate
And the waves showed up at the tail end of the month too, with the last Sunday of the month giving us perfect conditions at Ghajn Tuffieha. The timing was excellent, with a BOMBA event, Skate the Ron’s, taking place in the evening, so more beers flowed, washed down with brilliant hip hop. We might have not managed the skate ramp due to a last minute change of heart by the mayor, but its always good to hook up and talk surf into the night. We’ve got another event planned for Saturday October 26th, so watch this space for another party!
